As excitement builds up for its upcoming event where the new iPhone 6 is expected to be unveiled, Apple looks like it wants to keep the excitement going as reports suggest the tech company is planning to introduce a larger version of its iPad for 2015.
Bigger Tablet, Better Market Performance?
The new iPad will feature a 12.9-inch screen, with production set to begin sometime during the first quarter of 2015, according to a report from Bloomberg.
The report comes as the Cupertino-based etch company struggles with the declining sales of its 10-inch iPad and 7.9-inch iPad Mini. Sales of Apple tablets have been faltering as consumers switch to more affordable tablets and larger smartphones.
Apple has been working with suppliers for more than a year in developing larger touchscreen devices, according to sources cited by Bloomberg.
An Apple event scheduled this coming September 9 is expected to include the unveiling of its new flagship smartphone, the iPhone 6.
The tech company has yet to comment as of posting.
